Have you heard of Cassia Beck? She is best known for her charming, sweet, nostalgic photography – sold through her shop Lola’s Room. I have just discovered she also produces wonderful collage prints. These can be found in another of her Etsy shops – Violet May. I’d like to share a few of her prints below – I hope you like them as much as I do!
Violet May features nostalgic and colourful prints of original collages. Cassia Beck’s ‘quirky and playful scenes’ use vintage magazines, cut paper and her own photography to create tongue-in-cheek scenarios with a vintage feel.
I love the juxtaposition of grainy black and white vintage images with the bright and contemporary geometric shapes. The modern pops of colour often playfully interact with the vintage images – particularly the figures. My favourites include the man and woman playing golf and the woman who appears to be juggling large colourful balls above her head.
The prints and calendars would look great in a office or workspace area – to bring a little cheerful colour and whimsy to your business domain.
Cassia creates her prints on watercolour paper using long-lasting archival inks. All the prints are titled and signed by the artist.
