I’m really excited about my Etsy Focus post today – I’ve just been bursting to share with you the work of Jan Skácelík, a Czech graphic designer who has a fabulous bright and vibrant Etsy shop called Handz: Restyleshop.
Mid Century Modern Stig Lindberg Tea Retro Print
“Hello, My name is Jan Skácelík and I´m graphic designer / photographer / music composer from Olomouc, Czech Republic.
I love everything about design and especially vintage 50s / 60s Scandinavian stuff like Cathrineholm enamelware, Stig Lindberg, Marianne Westman, Eames, Danish modern furniture etc, vintage 60s book illustrations… “
Retro Polaroid Camera Print
I absolutely adore Jan’s cute modern prints that make use of retro motifs and typography. The polaroid camera in the print above is lovely – I used to own one just like it.
Retro Vespa Print
How about this fabulous vespa print? Inspirational quotes feature in almost all of Jan’s work.
Eames Rocking Chair Retro Print
Jan Skácelík has a beautiful blog called Design Attractor that features gorgeous Scandinavian interiors. You can also find more of ‘Handz: Restyle’ on Facebook and Twitter.
Every Friday I highlight an Etsy store that has caught my eye. If you enjoyed this post why not pop over and see my past Etsy Focus features.
This week my Etsy Focus features the lovely shop Hindsvik – owned by Daniel Garbutt and Valeria Herner, whose house I showed you the other day.
“Founded in 2009, Hindsvik shop is an online collection of vintage home decor and furniture products curated by shop owners Daniel Garbutt and Valeria Herner. The shop stocks everything from classic vintage designer furniture pieces to small kitchenware and accessories for the home.”

Keep up with what is inspiring Daniel and Valeria on their blog Hindsvik at Home.
This week’s Etsy Focus post features the quirky store Modernist Cat. Whether you have pets or not, I think pretty much everyone will appreciate these stylish shelters.
Small Circa50 Walnut Mid Century Modern Cat Furniture
“Seattle-based Modernist Cat designs Mid-Century Modern accessories for your feline—tailored to please your kitty without compromising your exquisite home décor. This collection provides a haute kitty den or hides the litter pan away in a sleek cabinet that caters to your sense of style AND your need to spoil your cat!”
Medium Circa50 Maple Mid Century Modern Cat Furniture
“Let’s be honest, no matter where you put your litter box, it’s an eyesore. Except when it’s stored in this Mid-Century-inspired marvel! The Circa50 hides the litter pan with its hinged side panel and features an 8-inch diameter entrance and holes on either side for ventilation and easy moving, which means Whiskers can do her business in private. The faux sliding door and Baltic blue grass cloth front turns this kitty toilette into a contemporary accessory you can show with pride. (And if your cat prefers her litter elsewhere, it works perfectly as a peekaboo side table.)”

I love the innovative designs of Crystal Gregory, owner of the Modernist Cat store. Crystal also owns Etsy store Urban Pet – ‘fleece coats for the modern dog, combining warmth and comfort with high style’.
I’ve just discovered Crystal, and her husband Gavin, have the most gorgeous house (unsurprisingly filled with mid-century gems). You can view a house tour over on Apartment Therapy.
